How do I submit a film?
Visit the "Categories" page under "About" for all information regarding submissions. Narrative films must be submitted using our website or, if you must, by sending in a DVD.
How do I know that I'm eligible?
The Loyola Film Festival is open to all current high school students (or at the time of production) of the 50 states and the District of Columbia.
When are films due?
The deadline to submit a film in the Narrative category is Friday, April 1st, at midnight.
What kind of film can I submit?
You may either submit a narrative film in any genre.
I made my film last year, can I still submit it?
As long as the film was made on or after January 1, 2015, it is eligible.
How long can my movie be?
Short films in the narrative category must be between 2 and 15 minutes in length.
Do I have to secure the rights of the music I use before submitting to the festival?
Yes, you must secure the rights to music. By submitting, you are accepting full ownership of all legal responsibilities. There are many "royalty-free" music websites, we suggest you use these. In addition, websites such as Bandcamp feature bands without a label. If you find an artist you like, contact them and ask if you can use their music in your student film.
What if I can't submit my film online? Can I mail it on a DVD?
We strongly suggest you submit films using our easy to use form; however, if you must mail your film, email us saying so, and after send it to the following address:

When will I know if I've won?
We will notify winners by May 7th, 2016.
Can I send more than one film?
You may submit more than one film; however, we suggest you only send us your best work as we are expecting many films to be submitted.
Can adults act in my film?
Yes, adults can act in your film; adults are able to participate in all aspects besides the creative work behind the scenes (writing, directing, editing).
Does my film have to be censored for content?
The festival will not allow the use of drug paraphernalia or excessive language and violence without explanation.
Can my film have been shown at other festivals?
Yes, it is perfectly fine to have had your film play at other film festivals.
Do you award prizes to the winners?
Yes, we award prizes to the best film in each category.
Where can I purchase tickets for the event?
You will be able to purchase tickets at a later date.
Is the event all ages?
Yes, the event is all ages. All films screened at the event are age appropriate.
What is the dress attire?
Attire is casual.
